Radio Comes to Rampur’ was screened by the People’s Voice




Jalandhar : ‘Radio Comes to Rampur’ was screened by the People’s Voice in Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar on last Sunday. While introducing the film, Kulwinder, Convener of the People’s Voice informed the viewers that although film has been made for children by the Children Film Society but the peculiar feature of the film is equally enjoyed by the elders. He further added that through a tale of introduction of Radio to a small remote village Rampur, the film director Asha Dutta underlined the human relationship under feudal system. The screening was followed by a discussion. During the discussion noted poet Surjeet Judge drawn attention towards, mythmaking as well as adoption of scientific instrument with unscientific rituals. Rakesh Anand added that though story has been meticulously build however, equal treatment of owners and servants is the limitation of the film.
It is pertinent to mention that the People’s Voice is a Jalandhar based organization dedicated for promotion of progressive ideology through electronic means. Apart from holding Dalhousie Film Meet, the organization holds a film show on last Sunday of every month in Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar.
